About Ledgra
Education as a Starting Point, Not a Shortcut
We believe that when people understand the language around borrowing and budgeting, they're better placed to make their own considered choices.

Where Ledgra Began
Ledgra was set up in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of people who'd spent years working in financial education and community outreach. What they kept hearing — from colleagues, from participants in community programmes, from family members — was the same thing: the terminology around borrowing felt foreign and difficult, and that unfamiliarity made already stressful situations harder to navigate.
The name Ledgra is a nod to the ledger — the basic record-keeping tool that underpins how commitments and repayments are tracked. We liked the idea of making something that felt complex feel more like a straightforward page of entries: clear, organised and readable.
We opened our Mont Kiara office in 2022 and have since offered workshops and structured courses to participants from across the Klang Valley and beyond. Our remit has always been the same: share information clearly, make no promises about outcomes, and point people toward the right professional or government bodies when their situation calls for that kind of support.
Our Mission
What We're Here For
Demystify the language
Borrowing contracts, repayment schedules and financial correspondence are often written in ways that take some unpacking. We translate those into everyday words.
Support without judgement
We don't ask why you're in a particular situation, and we don't make you feel that you should have known better. Everyone starts from somewhere.
Show the way to proper help
Education is only one piece. Where participants need regulated assistance — counselling, restructuring, legal guidance — we point them clearly toward qualified bodies.
The Team
People Behind Ledgra
Rajan Menon
Co-Founder & Lead Educator
Rajan spent over a decade in community financial literacy programmes before co-founding Ledgra. He leads the workshop design and facilitates most of the in-person sessions.
Nurul Zahirah
Co-Founder & Curriculum Lead
Nurul brings a background in adult education and curriculum development. She designed the five-week course structure and continues to refine the programme materials based on participant feedback.
Lim Kah Wei
Participant Support Coordinator
Kah Wei handles enquiries and looks after the peer group support circles. She's often the first point of contact and works to ensure each participant feels comfortable from the outset.
Our Standards
How We Approach Our Work
Every aspect of how we design and deliver our programmes reflects the same values: clarity, care and responsibility.
Educational Scope Only
All content is structured as general education. We do not provide financial advice, debt counselling, or any regulated service. Participants are always directed to licensed bodies for professional matters.
Personal Data Protection
We handle participant information in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Registration and enquiry data is used only for programme administration and is never sold or shared for marketing.
Accurate, Current Information
Our materials are reviewed regularly to reflect current Malaysian borrowing frameworks, Bank Negara Malaysia guidelines, and the resources available through bodies like AKPK.
Small Group Format
We keep our groups small so that facilitators can give proper attention to questions and participants can discuss concepts in a comfortable, informal setting without feeling lost in a crowd.
Referral to Support Bodies
Where a participant's situation calls for regulated help, we provide clear information about AKPK, BNM's contact points, and consumer protection resources — without making recommendations we're not qualified to give.
Participant Feedback Loop
Every cohort completes a structured feedback review. We use that input to adjust session content, pacing and materials so each new group benefits from what the previous one found helpful or unclear.
Understanding Borrowing and Repayment in Malaysia
Malaysia has a well-developed network of organisations and resources for people who want to understand how consumer borrowing works — from Bank Negara Malaysia's consumer education materials to AKPK's counselling and debt management programmes. Ledgra sits alongside these resources as an educational starting point, not a replacement for them.
Many adults find that they entered borrowing arrangements without fully understanding the mechanics: how interest compounds over time, what a repayment schedule actually means in practice, or how to read a statement clearly. These are not failures of intelligence — they're gaps that the financial system has historically done little to address through plain, accessible communication.
Our workshops and courses are built around the idea that clarity is a practical tool. When you understand what a term means, what a commitment entails, and how a schedule is structured, you are better placed to ask informed questions of lenders, advisers and other professionals. That knowledge belongs to you regardless of what decisions you make with it.
We serve participants from across Kuala Lumpur and the broader Klang Valley, with online options available for those further afield or who prefer to learn from home. Our sessions are conducted in English, and we aim to keep all language as clear and direct as possible throughout.
